Overview
Proteome Factory applies proprietary and state-of-the-art protein separation techniques to proteome analysis allowing the separation of up to 10,000 proteins within a single 2D electrophoresis gel.
In combination with optimized sample preparation and prefractionation methods the chance to identify potential biomarkers and targets is significantly enhanced compared to standard 2D electrophoresis using e.g. IPG gels.
Gel-based Systems
Prefractionation and Purification
- Removal of high-abundant proteins (albumin, IgG, IgA haptoglobin, transferrin etc.)
- Reverse Phase HPLC
- Differential centrifugation
- Free flow electrophoresis
- others on request
Two dimensional electrophoresis (2DE)
High resolution two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis
First Dimension:
- non equilibrium pH gradient electrophoresis (NEPHGE)
- IPG-Stripes
Second Dimension:
- SDS-PAGE
- 8 x 7 cm up to 60 x 30 cm
- up to 10000 protein spots per gel
Image analysis
Differential image analyses is performed using ProteomeWeaver (» Definiens AG)
Gel-free Systems
The following techniques are applied to gel-free proteomics:
- MeCAT / Isotopic labeling
- Multidimensional chromatography
- Free flow electrophoresis
