Extreme High Resolution 2D Electrophoresis (2DE)
The Proteome Factory uses extreme high resolution two dimensional gel electrophoresis in proteome analysis (proteomics) to identify regulated proteins, biomarkers and drug targets. Up to 10000 proteins can be separated by 40x30 cm 2DE gels.
The new breakable electriophoresis gels (SPAGE) of Proteome Factory allow the solubilization of protein spots following separation to enhence downstream analysis of proteins by mass spectrometry. Thus separated protein spots which are MeCAT labelled can be easily quantified by ICP-MS in an absolute way with unrivalled sensitivity (attomol) and a linear dynamic range of up to 9 orders of magnitude.
